How to Replace the Filter in Your NUVA Showerhead
Replacing your filter regularly keeps your NUVA PureFlow™ performing at its best. Here's a simple step-by-step guide.
Why Replace the Filter?
Over time, the filter captures impurities, sediment and other contaminants. Replacing it regularly — depending on your water quality and frequency of use — keeps filtration performance at its best and extends the life of your showerhead.
What You'll Need
- A new NUVA replacement filter
- A soft cloth or towel
- Optional: rubber gloves for extra grip
Turn Off the Water Supply
Make sure the water is completely turned off at your shower valve to avoid any unexpected leaks or splashes.
Unscrew the Bottom of the Showerhead
Locate the bottom end of the showerhead where the filter is housed. Hold the showerhead firmly and twist the bottom section counterclockwise to unscrew it. If it's too tight, use a soft cloth or rubber gloves for better grip.
Remove the Old Filter
Once the bottom section is open, gently pull out the existing filter, taking care not to damage any internal components.
Inspect the Housing
Check the area where the filter was located for any debris, mineral buildup, or blockages. Wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth if necessary.
Insert the New Filter
Align your replacement filter with the housing and insert it into place, making sure it sits snugly and securely. It should fit without force — if it doesn't, double-check the alignment.
Reattach the Bottom Section
Carefully screw the bottom section back into place by twisting it clockwise. Tighten it firmly, but avoid overtightening, which could damage the threads.
Test for Leaks
Turn the water back on and test the showerhead. Check for any leaks around the bottom section — if you notice any, tighten it slightly more.
